A RECOVERY Assistance Point is being offered at the Doug Walters Pavilion from 2-6pm on Wednesday, 4 June, to offer support for anyone affected by the recent storms.
Residents can drop in and access a range of important recovery services, including housing support, government assistance, mental health and wellbeing services, insurance and legal advice.
Dungog Shire Mayor Digby Rayward encouraged those who need support to attend.
“I realise there’s some anxious memories from the flood 10 years ago that will be resurfacing in some people,” he said.
“If you’re one of those, there will be people at that meeting you may wish to share your thoughts with.
“So don’t be afraid to come along, just have a yarn to anyone.”
No appointments are needed.
NSW Reconstruction Authority CEO Mal Lanyon said, “The scale of the impacts and recovery are significant, and we understand the challenges that come with that.
“But our message to communities is clear: we’re on the ground, we’re working hard, and we’ll be here for the long haul.
“The NSW Reconstruction Authority remains committed to standing side by side with flood-affected communities, not just in the immediate response, but throughout the recovery, for as long as it takes.”
