Dungog Shire its latest Roads and Infrastructure

DUNGOG Shire Council has published its latest Roads and Infrastructure update on its Facebook page, outlining where crews will be working across the Shire during the week commencing 29 June as road, bridge and community infrastructure projects continue.

Road rehabilitation work will continue on Cory Street at Martins Creek, where drainage and service installation remains underway.
Traffic control will stay in place throughout the project.

Construction also continues at the Abelard Street and Mackay Street roundabout, with pavement works progressing.

The intersection will remain closed while work is completed, with detours in place.

Council said resident and property access to both streets will be maintained throughout the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.

At Fishers Hill Road, initial sealing works have now been completed, with only minor finishing works remaining before the project is finalised.

Bridge projects also continue across the Shire.

Construction of the new Clarence Town Bridge is progressing with pavement approach and drainage works.

Traffic lights will continue to manage single-lane traffic through the work zone and motorists should expect delays.

Preparatory pavement and drainage works are also continuing ahead of construction on the new Gresford Bridge.

Maintenance crews will undertake tar patching on Dungog Road, Main Creek Road and Fosterton Road, while roadside slashing is scheduled for Alison Road, Marshdale and Flat Tops Road.

Drainage works will take place on Paterson River Road, with maintenance also continuing on Main Creek Road.

Community facilities are also receiving attention, with flooring upgrades underway at the Gresford Multi-Purpose Hall preschool and filter beds at Dungog Pool being replaced to improve the pool’s water treatment system.

At Clarence Town Sporting Reserve, wicket cover installation has been completed and the field has reopened for use, while all resurfacing and drainage works have now been completed at Paterson Sportsground.

Tree pruning will continue at John Tucker Park in Dungog, with the park remaining closed while the work is carried out.

For all after-hours incidents relating to local roads and bridges, the council urges residents to call 0407 721 224.
