DEAR News Of The Area,
A SIMPLE Google search for correlation between increased atmospheric carbon dioxide and temperature shows that Wayne Dunesbury’s contrary assertions (“At least we agree on something’, NOTA 21/8/26) are nonsense, unless tens of thousands of scientists worldwide over the past 50 years have been wrong.
Given that we have passed peak oil availability and are entering international fighting over access that is driving up price and security of supply, perhaps he can tell us his plans for when we run out of million-year-old plant residues and still need energy?
My view is we need to use these fossil fuels wisely now, while we have access to them, to build a resilient, reliable and cheap renewable energy economy.
Regards,
Dr Howard Dengate.
