THE newly-formed Dungog Common Advisory Group (DCAG), also known as “Dungog Voice”, is calling on locals to have their say on the future of the Dungog Common through a limited-time community survey.
The DCAG was created to provide a direct line of communication between community members and Dungog Community Projects (DCP), the Crown Land Manager responsible for the Common.
The group advises on everything from park and trail management to visitor safety, conservation efforts, and sustainable development of the reserve.
Chair of the DCAG, Emma Heath, said community involvement was essential to shaping the future of the Common.
“The Dungog Common is a shared space with enormous potential, but its success relies on community input,” Ms Heath said.
“We want to hear what locals and visitors value most and what they would like to see happen over the next few years, whether that’s improved trails, more events, or conservation projects.”
The survey is open now and findings will be shared with DCP to help inform its new strategic plan for the Common.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to complete the survey and share it widely through local networks.
More information about the Dungog Common Advisory Group, including details on how to get involved, can be found on the Dungog Common Recreation Reserve website.

“By taking a few minutes to complete the survey, you’re helping ensure the Common continues to be a place everyone can enjoy,” Ms Heath added.
