COMMUNITY groups, sporting clubs and local organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding through Dungog Shire Council’s Community Small Grants Program.
The program offers grants of up to $2,500 to support projects, events and initiatives that strengthen the local community.
Deputy Mayor Liam Ley said the funding was available to help community organisations turn ideas into reality.
“If you’re in the community, now is the time to apply,” Cr Ley said.
“Dungog Shire Community Small Grants is the name of the program.
“Grants are up to $2,500, and they’re available to support projects, events and initiatives that help and strengthen the community.”
The grants are open to a range of groups across the Shire, including sporting clubs and community organisations seeking funding for local initiatives.
Cr Ley said Council was keen to receive a broad range of applications.
“So whether you’re part of a sporting club, community group or local organisation, I’d love to see your ideas,” he said.
Applications are open until 30 August, giving organisations time to prepare submissions.
Applicants can find eligibility information and lodge applications through Dungog Shire Council’s website.
“Applications are now open, but they do close the 30th of August, so you do actually have quite a bit of time,” Cr Ley said.
“But if you jump onto Council’s website, you can find out more, and more importantly, you can apply.”
The Community Small Grants Program supports projects that contribute to stronger, more connected communities throughout Dungog Shire.
