Dungog’s Dixies and Dynamos finish the season strong

THE Dungog Dixies and Dungog Dynamos have brought their seasons to a memorable close, with the under-10s celebrating a grand final championship and the under-12s finishing runners-up after two impressive campaigns in the Maitland competition.

Both teams took to the court for their final games on Saturday, 19 September, capping off a season filled with determination, teamwork and plenty of memorable moments for the young players and their supporters.

The Dungog Dixies saved their best for last, claiming a grand final victory against Thornton Flash to be crowned under-10s champions.

The girls delivered a fantastic performance in the decider, with every player contributing and showing determination, teamwork and heart. Their grand-final success was a fitting reward for a season of hard work and commitment, giving the team plenty to celebrate.

The Dixies’ achievement was also a testament to the support behind the team, with coach Scarlett and manager Tracey recognised for their dedication, guidance and hard work throughout the season.

The team also thanked their families and supporters, whose encouragement helped make the season such a success.

Meanwhile, the Dungog Dynamos enjoyed an equally memorable season in the under-12s competition, taking on West Rutherford Wild in their grand final and finishing the season as runners-up.

Although the result was not quite what the girls had hoped for, the Dynamos have plenty to be proud of.

The team demonstrated resilience, determination and teamwork right through to the final whistle, highlighting the talent and spirit within the group.

The players were congratulated on their achievements and for representing their families and club with pride. The team also acknowledged the wonderful support they received throughout the season, with encouragement from the sidelines helping make their journey a special one.

Following the grand final matches, the club wrapped up the season with a presentation evening on Saturday, 19 September, where all players were celebrated and recognised for their efforts, achievements and contributions throughout the year.

The evening provided an opportunity for players, families, coaches, managers and supporters to come together, reflect on the season and celebrate the commitment and growth of all the girls involved.

This season was particularly significant for the Dungog club, marking its first year competing in the Maitland competition.

The achievements of all of the teams highlight the value of teamwork, dedication and community support, while showcasing the promising talent coming through the club, the future is certainly bright for the Dungog club as a whole.

As the club reflects on a successful season, we look forward to 2027, we will soon be seeking sponsorship to help our club continue to grow.
