THE Gloucester Business Chamber’s new committee is holding a public meeting at Club Gloucester on Wednesday 9 September at 7 pm to gauge community support for the New Year’s Eve Fireworks event.
The Business Chamber initiative began in 2021 to bring the community together after the COVID pandemic and marked its fifth year in 2025.
As John Watts reported in News Of The Area in November 2025, the event was at risk of cancellation because of funding issues, but the Chamber decided to continue.
The public meeting gives local businesses and community members a chance to help decide whether the New Year’s Eve Fireworks event should take place in 2026 and what support it may need.
As discussed at the Business Chamber meeting on Wednesday 26 August, if the event goes ahead, it will require financial and physical support from businesses and community members.
The Business Chamber encourages the community to attend the public meeting on Wednesday 9 September at 7pm in the upstairs room at Club Gloucester, or comment on the Gloucester Business Chamber’s Facebook page.
