IT’S time for aged care workers around the country to strike a pose, because Ageing Australia is looking to showcase photographs of the best in the sector.
So many people contribute in positive and amazing ways to the care of older Australians, and Ageing Australia is holding a Humans of Aged Care photo competition to honour their contributions.
This year’s theme, ‘Small moments, Big impact’ celebrates the everyday moments in the aged care sector – and the extraordinary range of people who choose this varied, challenging but rewarding career.
“Behind every resident, every home, every community program, there’s a person who chose to be there,“ Ageing Australia CEO Tom Symondson said.
“A nurse, a personal care worker, a chef, a gardener, a diversional therapist, a volunteer, a physio, a driver, a hairdresser – to name just a few.”
“The Humans of Aged Care contest is about putting a face – and a moment – to that career.”
Cash prizes will be awarded to winning organisations to put towards a staff development initiative of their choice. First prize is $2500, second prize $1000 and a people’s choice prize winner will receive $1000.
Entries are open now and close on 16 October.
The winning photos will be displayed at Ageing Australia’s National Conference in Sydney in November.
